Poverty of the orphan...

"Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat." ~Mother Teresa

"We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty". ~Mother Teresa

"There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread." ~Mother Teresa

"The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread." ~Mother Teresa

"The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved." ~Mother Teresa

Good morning Dawn - I'm guessing that you like Mother Teresa! She is evidence of God in the world and was clearly inspired...

I'm something of a follower of Francis of Assisi (OK - follower of Christ - but find great examples in the life of Francis!) and I've often wondered what it would have been like had he and Mother Teresa have been together....the brilliance would have been simply mind blowing!
