Update on Miss C.

Our precious princess Carissa was  6 years old in April. She has been home for 3 years now. She is missing two teeth, one we had to have removed as it was broken in half, when we received her in China  and one tooth she pulled  out on her own. She finished a year of kindergarten and will be starting home school first grade in September. She  has come so far in 3 years...  She is a sweet, smart, loving little girl. She loves music and dancing and going to yard sales with daddy.  She loves being with mommy and shopping and cooking any chance she can and she is becoming a very good helper at home. She also  loves to boss us all if she can get away from it!   ;-)  She adores her big sister Faith and her brother Stephen. She LOVES her family!

She was scared of just about every one and every thing when we got her home from China. She was very traumatized in her orphanage.  She was starved, neglected, and hit... just to mention a few of her traumas. Yes, I may sound a bit angry, I am not too forgiving about any of my children being hurt by others.  No orphanage is good but some are horrendous... she was not in the worst China has but a bad one.  No one should hurt children... not any culture or any amount of ignorance or poverty is an excuse. I once had an adoptive mom tell me, "Well, our waiting children in China do not know any better so I am sure she is fine"...   No, she was not fine... but we got her home as soon as we could  and she is healing and growing and I know that the great healer will continue to turn the ashes in her life to beauty.

Carissa is anxious to learn all she can and to read has now become her big desire.  We love you Carissa and we will always protect you and care for you. Remember Jesus loves you and keep growing and glowing...
