Loving Mercies...

"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

Morning Dawn - glad you had some time with the 'olders' - we miss ours too - it's hard to have them out 'being adults' - but it's good all at the same time!

These are some noble words - but they do 'define' what love is about - perfect trust that you won't hurt me....and if you think about the difficulties and 'fights' that you've had with signifcant others over your life and you strip away the anger, then you realize how stupid you really were - becuase at the end of the day you KNOW in your heart of hearts that this person would never have set about hurting you on purpose - and accidents should always be recognized as just that - accidents - and be forgiven!

hugs - aus and co.
